Valsavarenche - Ski resort facts
Unplanned stops,to observe a wolf, an ibex or other wild animals , are not unusual in the Gran Paradiso National Park. In addition to these magical encounters, Valsavarenche cross-country slopes offer breathtaking panoramas and views , such as the fifteenth century Church of Dégioz, which together, contribute, to the creation of a truly enchanting backdrop. Cross-country skierscan uncover all these opportunities for enjoyment along the 12 kilometres of slopes that extend betweenthe main town of Dégioz, at an altitude of 1540 metres, and Pont, the valley's last village at an altitude of 2000 metres. Just a short distance from the town hall and from the Park's Visitor Centre, are 2 kilometres of slope, illuminated by a modern lighting system. Five kilometres of slopes, approved for athletic competitions, are to be found at the village of Pont. Here, various circuits of the same ski slope allow skiers to choose itineraries of length and technical characteristics suited to theirindividual requirements.
